Aston Martin Vulcan Revealed in Volcanic Orange Color Posted: The Aston Martin Vulcan is a track-only hypercar that was revealed earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show. At the time, it was shown in a sort of spearmint green color, but now the British automaker has unveiled it in an atomic orange hue. Revealed at a private get-together during Monterey Car Week, this machine looks as mean as ever. As before, this car celebrates Aston Martin's motorsports heritage and brandishes a 7.0-ltier V12 that promise to deliver in excess of 800 horsepower. Its monocoque structure is made of carbon fiber, as is the Vulcan's bodywork. Obviously, this provides a strong foundation and incredibly light weight. SEE ALSO: 2015 Pebble Beach Concourse and Monterey Car Week Coverage Beyond all of this, the engine is mounted amidship and sends torque to the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential. Helping manage that brute force is a track-derived pushrod suspension setup with driver-adjustable dampers. Reining all of this in are carbon-ceramic brake rotors squeezed by Brembo calipers. Production of the track-only Aston Martin Vulcan was limited to just 24 models. Given its racing pedigree, it conforms to all FIA safety regulations. Of course if you're a true automotive enthusiast – and a regular AutoGuide.com reader – none of this is really news. However, the Vulcan's hot new paint job is worth checking out. Galpin Fisker Rocket Drops the Top at Pebble Beach Posted: Galpin Auto Sports and Henrik Fisker unveiled the 2015 Rocket Speedster concept at the 2015 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. The companies are calling it the latest iteration of the "Ultimate American Muscle Car," and it builds on the Galpin Fisker Rocket that originally debuted in concept form at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. Based on the Ford Mustang, the new Rocket Speedster is a convertible carbon fiber-bodied sports car intended for low-volume production. Using a carbon fiber speedster cover, the team transformed the four-seat convertible into a two-seat speedster with a carbon fiber hood feeding air into a supercharged V8 engine pumping out 725 hp. The concept was built by GFMI Metalcrafters, Inc. in California and has a number of key aerodynamic features to channel airflow for necessary cooling and downforce. Additions include a pair of air scoops mounted on the rear fenders ahead of the wheels, helping direct fresh air to the large 15-inch Brembo Gran Turismo brakes. The Rocket Speedster concept rides on 21-inch metallic red five-spoke wheels, matching the exterior of the car. SEE ALSO: Galpin Fisker Rocket Ford Mustang Production Begins In a press release, Galpin and Fisker confirmed that the Rocket Speedster won't be a one-off concept and interested buyers will have the option to buy a car through Galpin Ford directly or through numerous hand-picked dealers around the world. "Henrik's original design sketches for the Rocket gave me chills and the convertible is no different," said Beau Boeckmann, President of Galpin Motors. "This Speedster Concept has added another layer of style to the car without losing an ounce of the incredible beauty of the coupe. It really has been a dream collaboration, combining Henrik's design execution with the performance and customization expertise of the Galpin Auto Sports team."
