Fast and Furious Volkswagen Jetta Heading to Auction Posted: Another car featured in the Fast and Furious movie franchise is crossing the auction block. This custom 1995 Volkswagen Jetta starred in the original movie and is currently owned by Frankie Muniz of TV, music, movie and racing fame. Looking just like it did when the movie was filmed, the modified Volkswagen Jetta is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine mated to an automatic transmission. It has made numerous appearances over the years to help promote the movie franchise and even has a custom stereo that incorporates a PlayStation 2 inside the car. Other notable cars that have been auctioned off this year from the Fast and Furious series include the Toyota Supra that Walker drove in the first movie. That custom Supra went for $185,000 at Mecum Acutions. The drift-themed, Veilside Nissan 350Z used in Fast and Furious 3: Tokyo Drift was also listed for sale by Cheshire Classic Cars for $234,000 in August. The Volkswagen Jetta will be auctioned off at the upcoming Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2016 auction that runs from January 23 to 31. Audi Q2 Confirmed to Arrive in 2016 Posted: The Audi Q2 has been confirmed and will arrive next year. In announcing that the company plans to invest over € 3 billion ($3.3 billion) in 2016, Audi revealed that it will enter a new market segment with the Q2 model starting next year. Also making its debut in 2016 will be the successor of the Audi Q5, which we have seen testing in the spy photos above. A large part of the sizable investment will go towards alternative drive systems said Audi CEO, Rupert Stadler. The German automaker plans to launch its first large-series, battery-electric vehicles in 2018, based on the Audi e-tron Quattro concept. Another part of the investment will be the company's focus in recruiting additional experts in the field of future technologies including specialists in alternative drive systems and lightweight construction, as well as IT specialists that will further develop the fields of Audi connect, Audi mobility and smart factory in the context of digitization. Ferrari California T Recalled for Possible Fire Risk Posted: The 2016 Ferrari California T is being recalled to address a possible fuel leak in the engine compartment. According to the recall notice, 185 Ferrari California T exotics are affected by the recall and were manufactured between September 8 and November 11, 2015. The recall is caused by a manufacturing defect on a part provided by a supplier, the Italian automaker noted in the filing to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Ferrari also recalled around 800 units in the U.S. earlier this year to address an issue with faulty Takata airbags.
