Luxury crossovers are popular with all kinds of drivers, from affluent young professionals to retirees. Two of the best available on the market today are the Acura MDX and brand-new Volvo XC90.

Acrua's offering in this segment features a 3.5-liter V6 engine that's good for 290 horses and 267 lb-ft of twist. It's matched exclusively to a nine-speed automatic transmission for maximum, er, shifting. A 111-inch wheelbase helps provide upward of 132 cubic feet of maximum cargo space.

The XC90 is a Swedish rival to this fancy Honda. It's powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. That may seem a little bit too small until you realize it's BOTH turbo- and supercharged. This helps it deliver a muscular 316 ponies and 295 units of twist. Understated Scandinavian design inside and out further sweeten the deal.
