We now have our first look at the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class coupe.

As the next model in the C-Class family to receive the major update, the C-Class coupe is expected to make its debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show and these first spy photos show what we can expect from the new model. Alhough it's heavily camouflaged, it's easy to see that the next-generation C-Class coupe will be heavily inspired by the S-Class coupe, especially with its slim tail lights.

Expect the C-Class coupe to share its powertrain and drivetrain options with its sedan counterpart including an AMG version not far behind the official debut. It is also likely that the German automaker will develop a C450 AMG Sport coupe model to join the C450 AMG Sport sedan that debuted at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show.

An updated version of Acura's compact crossover will be unveiled at this years Chicago Auto Show.

Acura is promising that its upcoming 2016 RDX will come with a long list of styling and performance improvements in addition to new luxury and safety features. We'd expect the AcuraWatch suite of safety systems including lane departure warning, forward collision warning and blind-spot warning to make it into the new RDX.

The company is also promising a fresh exterior and interior design for the crossover. It's unclear if the new styling cues will include big changes for the crossover or something more refined, similar to how Acura smoothed out the design of the 2015 ILX. We'd bet on the latter.

The Japanese automaker is has also made improvements to the vehicle's performance, dynamics, comfort and noise levels, ensuring a more luxury oriented drive.

Toyota Teases Mysterious RND Concept

Toyota has teased a shadowy concept vehicle called the RND. Almost nothing is known about the car at this point but we should be able to share a lot more on January 26 when it's revealed in the United Kingdom.

One thing we can say is that supposedly this vehicle is more than just some pie-in-the-sky design study; apparently it's production ready. Aside from this very ambiguous photo we know nothing else. Is this a shot of a tail lamp? Could it be part of the grille? Are we looking at a door handle? You guesses are as good (or bad) as ours.

What is known about this car is that it's supposed to appeal to the "widest possible market," which sounds like a new entry-level product. That means it probably won't be a sports car or something from Lexus.

What do you think the Toyota RND concept will be? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for the January 26 reveal.

With the teaser image you see above, Honda has officially confirmed that the next-generation version of its three-row crossover will be debuting at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show.

Expect the new Pilot to be  slightly larger than the current one, but still available with the same 3.5-liter V6 it uses today. The image above shows that Honda is looking to make the Pilot much less boxy and sleeker in terms of exterior appearance.

The company says it's adding a few other wrinkles to its big crossover including new "standout technologies, versatility and dynamics currently unavailable in the mainstream SUV segment."

"Honda continues to fortify its light-truck lineup in 2015, this time turning our eye to the fast-growing family SUV segment," said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president of Honda. "The new Pilot will raise the bar in a segment it helped to create, with more innovation, style, premium features and family utility than ever before."

The new Pilot was completely designed, developed and manufactured in America, and will be hitting showrooms as early as this summer.

New smart ED Delayed for at Least a Year

Daimler's much-maligned smart car has received a desperately-needed overhaul for the 2016 model year but unfortunately the brand's entire lineup has not been redesigned just yet.

This updated city car should launch in around six or eight months on this side of the Atlantic but a new version of the Electric Drive model, ED for short is not expected to arrive until late in 2016. Yes, the gasoline-powered version gets all of Daimler's love first.

The current body style smart ED will solider on for at least another year, meaning that when it finally does become available it will probably be a 2017 model.

Fortunately for the brand their electric car is quite a strong seller. The ED accounts for about a quarter of smart's total sales in the U.S. Accordingly it makes no sense to discontinue this model until a replacement is ready.

Smart is expected to debut its all-new gasoline-powered car at the New York auto show in April. Important details including fuel-economy figures and engine ratings will likely also be divulged in the Big Apple, so stay tuned.
