The very last Mitsubishi Evo Final Edition produced in North America sold for $76,400 at auction.

The proceeds from the auction will benefit Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino and Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, both of which fall under the Feeding America umbrella. This is actually the second Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition that has been auctioned, with the very first unit of 1,600 selling for $46,200 last December. That auction raised money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Combined, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Editions US0001 and US1600 have raised a total of $122,600 for charity.

Aston Martin DB11 Convertible Set to Arrive Spring 2018

Posted:

The Aston Martin DB11 convertible has been teased and is set to debut in spring 2018.

Officially called the Aston Martin DB11 Volante, the British automaker posted three images of the convertible variant on its Facebook page with very little disguise. It appears that it will feature a soft-top roof and will retain the sleek body lines of the DB11 coupe.

Considering Aston Martin only released teaser images of the rear end, it is likely that the front end will see some changes compared to the coupe, although that's pure speculation.

Powertrain should be shared with the coupe, however, meaning the all-new 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 will also power the roadster. That engine provides 600 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, allowing the coupe to have a top speed of 200 mph and a zero-to-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time of 3.9 seconds. Do expect the Volante version to be slightly slower in acceleration and have a lower top speed, which is typical for convertibles because of the added weight.

Volkswagen Golf R Facelift Spied Testing in Wagon Form

Posted:

The Volkswagen Golf is getting a facelift and spy photographers have captured the Golf R wagon variant testing the updated front end.

Spotted in the Austrian Alps, the Volkswagen Golf R wagon prototype only has the front end covered in camouflage, so it's likely that's the only part that will see significant updates. We can see a new front grille, headlights, and bumper, although the rear tail lights will likely get updated graphics as part of the refresh. Expect to see some minor changes to the interior as well, with a larger infotainment screen and new options for trim.

It's unclear if the Golf R will get more performance as part of the facelift, or if the German automaker believes the current 300 horsepower will suffice. The facelift will affect all Golf models across the lineup, but naturally the Golf R styling will be a bit more aggressive and sportier compared to the standard model.

Look for the facelifted Volkswagen Golf to debut this fall.
