Most Googled Automotive Brands of 2014 Announced Posted: You might be surprised to learn which automobile manufacturers were searched the most this year. The search engine giant has released its 2014 Trends Report and of course that includes the most searched cars of the year. It's almost no surprise that Ford topped this year's chart considering the American automaker introduced not one, but two highly anticipated models: the 2015 Ford Mustang and the all-new aluminum F-150. Following Ford was Jeep, which debuted the Renegade this year. But the compact crossover wasn't the most searched Jeep vehicle, in fact it was the company's popular Cherokee and Wrangler models. SEE ALSO: 2015 Ford Mustang Review Dodge also caught a lot of buzz this year in car searches, with its Ram lineup garnering the most traffic. Both the Charger and Challenger models made a late surge, much thanks to the new SRT Hellcat models that debuted packing 707 hp. Almost no surprise here that Toyota is somewhere on the list, considering its one of the most popular automakers in the world. Driver in the state of California and Hawaii topped the search areas while the Camry and Tacoma were the most searched cars from the Japanese automaker. Rounding out the top five was General Motors but it wasn't for any astonishing debuts or new car announcements. Instead, it was for the massive ignition switch recall that plagued millions of vehicles in the U.S. The rest of the top 10 Googled automakers were Subaru, Honda, Nissan, BMW and Tesla. Cadillac CT6 to get Digital Rearview Mirror Posted: Cadillac is looking for new ways to improve safety through advanced technologies. The American automaker has announced that it will add high-resolution streaming video to its rearview mirrors late next year, allowing a rearview that's unobstructed by passengers, headrests and the vehicle's roof and rear pillars. The company estimates that the streaming video improves field of vision by an estimated 300 percent, or roughly four times greater than a normal mirror. The mirror's display is an industry-leading 1280 x 240 TFT-LCD display with 171 pixels per inch. To help keep the camera clean it features a water-shedding hydrophobic coating. Expect the new technology to debut on the 2016 Cadillac CT6. "In addition to the increased field of view, the technology eliminates any rear seat, rear pillar or passenger obstructions, allowing the driver an unimpeded view of the lanes behind and traditional blind-spots," said Travis Hester, Cadillac CT6 executive chief engineer.
