Demand for Buick's small crossover is making the company boost production.

Buick managed to sell 48,892 Encores in 2014, outpacing even the company's expectations for the small crossover and growing by about 50 percent over 2013. Now, GM is boosting production by 50 percent for the US market and the brand expects the Encore to be its best-selling vehicle by the end of 2015.

Buick dealers say that they could sell more Encores if they could get them and that the four month wait period is acting as a major handicap. Plants in Mexico, Korea, and Spain will all boost production so that the U.S. market can be sated.

Self-driving cars are getting closer to reality every day.

Self-driving technology is currently being hotly debated over just how safe it really is and right now, States across America are trying to determine whether or not to make autonomous vehicles legal.

The Center for Internet and Society has been keeping track of which states are allowing self-driving cars to be tested on public roadways and so far, California, Nevada, Florida and Michigan all have legislation that allow these cars to test on public roads.

Though it may be legal in those states, each one has its own definitions of what's allowed. For example, California requires a driver with a valid driver's license in the front seat of the autonomous vehicle while Michigan allows driverless cars for testing purposes only.

There are many other states where legislation has failed including Texas, Arizona, Oklahoma, Minnesota and Georgia. States that are allowing the technology include North Dakota and New York, while nearly half the country has yet to mull over a choice.

Volvo Developing ‘Self-Fueling’ Cars

How exactly does a car fill itself up with gas? Well, It doesn't, but a new service from Volvo is pretty close to that reality.

The Swedish automaker is reportedly developing a system that will alert a mobile fueling truck via a smartphone when it's time to fill a car's gas tank. The truck driver will have a one-off code to access that specific car's fuel tank, so they can fill the tank even without the owner present.

Volvo would only say "maybe" when asked directly if they were developing this fueling technology, but it is clear that the brand wants to integrate smartphone connectivity into its cars. "The widespread use of smartphones is unlocking new potential in what you can do connecting a car with a customer," Klas Bendrik, Volvo's head of technology told the Daily Mail.

A system that would allow packages to be delivered to your car has already been tested by Volvo according to Bendrik, suggesting that Volvo is definitely interested in this kind of technology.
