Galpin Fisker Rocket Ford Mustang Production Begins Posted: The Galpin Fisker Rocket Ford Mustang will debut in production form at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. The low-volume Mustang is the result of a collaboration between Galpin Auto Sports and Henrik Fisker and is called "The Rocket." It will make its debut on March 14 and production of the car has begun after the company showed off a prototype at last year's Los Angeles Auto Show. Inspired by the specialty pony cars of the 1960s and early 1970s, Fisker also borrowed designed cues from the 1968 Shelby GT500. Priced from $109,000 the Rocket will come standard with carbon fiber coach work, a performance package and a Bassani exhaust while those wanting the 725 hp will have to opt for the supercharged version that is priced from $125,000. SEE ALSO: Galpin Fisker Rocket Makes a 725 HP Statement Options for the Rocket include an interior package featuring hand-finished Italian leather upholstery seats, dash, center console, door panels and rear deck interior panel in addition to suede-lined A, B and C pillars. A custom-tuned premium audio system is also available for those that want a complete packaged sports car as well as an ultra-high performance Gran Turismo brake package from Brembo. Wheels options include 21-inch rollers from ADV1 and a special, track-oriented lightweight 20-inch wheel and tire combination. "The response has been overwhelmingly positive from all over the world – you can't get better feedback than that two months after debuting a car you helped build," said Beau Boeckmann, President of Galpin Motors. "I'm so proud of Henrik's amazing design, and the team at Galpin Auto Sports for the detailed performance work. Amelia Island is the perfect venue for this debut as it draws an eclectic group of passionate automotive enthusiasts from around the world into one picturesque central location that celebrates the automobile."
